Strategies to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Maritime Bliss Oceanfront Suite with Views 3rd Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
