How to find the best rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. MH138 Ocean Lakes Pet Friendly Golf Cart ????????????????????????? has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
