Getting the best rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Lovely Studio Condo 200 Yards from the Atlantic has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
