Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have deals for local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the bestrental:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Myrtle Beach Resort A0327 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
