Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the best rental:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Newly Renovated 2 bed 2 bath A114 at the Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
