Vacation rental home tips:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:

  • Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Barefoot Escape - Beautiful Beach View!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. message the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
