Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. A402 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Beautiful Ocean Front Condo has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
