Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Finding the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Beautiful Condo with a Walk-in Shower A448 at The Myrtle Beach Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
