Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Finding the best rental home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Awesome Ocean Front Condo T1601 at The Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If not, email the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
