Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. T1601 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Awesome Ocean Front Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
