Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Charming Condo Steps Away From Indoor Pool B437 at The Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, call the host before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
