Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • First and foremost, have your family select date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Charming Condo Steps Away From Indoor Pool B437 at The Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
