Getting the best vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- To get the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select dates and spending budget.

- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
