Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. KING Honeymoon Suite Pools at Caravelle Resort! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Call the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
