Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the best rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

How to pick the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Kingston Resort: Winter rates, Ground floor, 7 min walk to beach, two decks has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
