Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Amazing Large Oceanfront Sleeps (8) -2 bedroom 2bath has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. text the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
