Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your family commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanside Village East Lake Waterfront Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If not, email or call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
