Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Fantastic views, two queen beds, high floor! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your group.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your invoice.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
