Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Margate condo- Snow birds book Dec, Jan & Feb pay 60 per night + taxes and fees! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. message the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
