Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Relaxation Station! Enjoy a very quiet, calm area of Myrtle Beach at our condo. has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
