Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. OCEAN FRONT CONDO! EASTER WEEK RENTAL! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
