Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have discounts for local tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- First, have your family select trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. OCEAN FRONT CONDO! EASTER WEEK RENTAL! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your contract.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
