Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Filter your rental search:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean Lakes - Site 5718 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
