Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.

- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.

- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective.
