Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Marriott's OceanWatch Villas - Upscale Resort Villa On The Beach! Spacious! Garden View has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
