Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
When to go & When to book:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean Lakes Site MH 05 - 3BR\/2BA with spacious yard has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
