Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Ocean Lakes Site S-25, 3 bed\/2bath ground level with optional golf cart has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
