Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To book the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking the rightrental:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes Site S-25, 3 bed\/2bath ground level with optional golf cart has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before booking the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Advice for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Contact the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
