Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Ocean View Double Queen Suite! Perfect for 4 Guests! Sea Mist 51112 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If not, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
