Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean View Double Queen Suite! Perfect for 4 Guests! Sea Mist 51112 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
