Tips for getting the best rental home experience:
Find your best deal:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental:
- Start by having your group select vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean View King Ste 10th Flr w\/Hot Breakfast has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
