Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean View Studio with 3 Beds! Sea Mist 51303 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
