Vacation rental home tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have discounts for local tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanfront 2 Bedroom w\/ an Incredible View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your invoice.
Have a great stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
