How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and choosing the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront!! Great views of beach! 5BR\/3Bath has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
