Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. SHORT WALK TO THE BEACH!! 65\" Smart TV, WIFI has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your family.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
