How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your family select vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront, Modern, Clean, Pools, Hot Tubs, Kids Splash Park, Sleeps 6! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
