Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your search:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Paradise Three-Bedroom Condo 16th Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
