Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Sun Suite w\/ Fantastic View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is suitable for your family.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
