How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the largest rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront\/Poolfront Condo in Myrtle Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
