Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the largest rental for your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront_Spectacular View _Bright\/Pristine_Family Friendly In a Quiet Building has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
