Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Oceanfront_Spectacular View _Bright\/Pristine_Family Friendly In a Quiet Building has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
