Our top Vacation rental home tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Oceanview Condo with Pool and Private Beach Access! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Tips for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
