Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Palm Sands 6 BR 2-Condo Beachfront Retreat.Host is FieldsManagementVacations.com has 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
