Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Paradise at the Beach with Golf Course View has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
