Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Perfect Location Updated 6 BR Oceanview in Ocean Lakes A17 has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
