Rental property booking tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. UPDATED UNIT, BEST VALUE-Top beachfront resort, Clean, Ideal location, Pool near has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
