Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Rare 2 King 2BR @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
