Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Get the best value:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Renovated, Safe, Beachfront, Family Friendly, Quiet & Great Reviews! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
