Tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Sand Dunes Resort 2731 - Oceanfront! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Contact the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
