How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and picking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by having your group decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sand Dunes Resort 2731 - Oceanfront! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
During your stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
