Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have coupons for local shops and restaurants.
How to choose the best rental home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Seaside Living 6th Flr 3BR Angle Ocean View Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
