How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- To start, have your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Sheraton Broadway Resort on Myrtle Beach- Spacious Two Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
