Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your best deal:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- To book the largest rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Spacious Coastal Living 3 Bedroom Condo 1st Floor has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
