Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking the rightvacation home:
- To start, have your group choose dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Two Bedroom at a 57-Acre Oceanfront Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
