Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Two Bedroom at a 57-Acre Oceanfront Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
