Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Two Bedroom at a 57-Acre Oceanfront Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, email the host before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
