Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Spacious Ocean View Elegance 3 Bdrm Condo 10th Flr has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
