How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Stunning Ocean View 2 Bedroom Condo On The Golden Mile- Ocean Forest Villas A-318-Sleeps 6! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
