Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- First, have your group decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. OCEAN FRONT! 603T 3 BEDROOM has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your family.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. message the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
